Dr. Brad L. Johnson was born in Aiken, South Carolina on 1/1/61. He attended the Citadel as an undergraduate were he lettered in baseball and sat on the Round Table and Honor Court.

He broke the family tradition of a career in law when entered medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston, South Carolina. Dr. Johnson then undertook his general surgery residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School where Dr. Britt was a faculty member and welcomed mentor.

Following this experience, he then spent a year training abroad in Australia and returned the states to do fellowship in vascular surgery at the University of South Florida in Tampa where he remains a faculty member and Professor in the Department of Surgery.

His specialty and research interests include management of endovascular complications, endovascular aortic reconstruction and carotid stenting. He is married to plastic surgeon Dr. Coberly and has two horses, a cat and an Australian puppy.

Beside playing tennis and scuba diving he has climbed Africa's Mt. Kilimanjaro, Canada's Mt. Athabasca, Indonesia's Mt. Rinjani and Wyoming's the Grand Teton. He also served on the Board of the Tampa Yacht Club and USF Physicians Group.
